The price of the new Samsung smartphone with a folding display is nothing flexible – it can be a solid $2,000. It’s no secret that Samsung is working on a folding smartphone. In fact, this is not the only company who does it.

However, Samsung seems to have invested a lot of development tools in the project over the past few years and now hopes to present the finished product in 2019. The Korean giant even showed a working concept behind the closed doors of the CES 2018.

The device is expected to be released as Galaxy X and according to Samsung CEO, its flexibility will be more than just a marketing trick.

But how much will the smartphone manufacturer charge for it? Well, according to sources in the industry, the Galaxy X will cost about $1,850, and the parts to build the phone will be available sometime in November – just in time for release in 2019.

With such a price offer, it is not difficult to imagine that the Galaxy X will be anything more than a limited-edition device at a glance, and will primarily attract real hardcore fans. Hopefully, over time, foldable OLED displays will become cheaper and will be available to the average consumer. Post from: GizBrain
