The need for constant monitoring of blood pressure is an important part of everyday life in a large number of people with different illnesses, so if Samsung’s new patent turns out to be what we think of it, it is likely that the next Gear smart watch will become important assistant to many more users.

Ever since its flagship Galaxy S5, the South Korean company has been building pulse sensors in its phones, but so far there has been no model capable of measuring blood pressure. The company’s new patent, however, shows a smart watch that is even more compact than the Omron HeartGuide, the only fitness tracker with such a feature.

The watch will be able to perform the important task completely alone, decoding the different algorithms detected by its sensors. The patent is for the Gear S4, smart watch and if it’s actually done, the wearable device will be able to monitor blood continuously and even notify your doctor when it reads dangerous values.

Like most patents, however, there is no real guarantee that we will be able to see it in action, but this is an innovation we really hope will find a way for users soon. Post from: GizBrain
