Towards the end of last year, Ferrari confirmed that is working on the first-ever for the company SUV. It was then announced that the Italians would need about 30 months to develop the project.

Now however, a new information from AutoExpress shows that the brand from Maranello will speed up work on the model, as apparently cann’t wait to step on the SUV market.

According to the British edition, it is quite possible to see the finished serial product at the end of next year, with sales starting in early as 2020.

Speaking at the Detroit motor show in January 2018, the CEO of the company Sergio Marchionne hinted that’d it’d be the fastest SUV on the market, meaning it’ll have to beat the Urus’s physics-bending performance. Lamborghini’s SUV has a top speed of 189 mph, so the new Ferrari will need to be seriously quick.

The Ferrari off-roader’s styling remains shrouded in mystery, but our sources suggest it’ll retain hints of Ferrari’s front-engined models, albeit on a taller, larger chassis.
