The latest addition to the Asus ZenFone series will come sooner than we expected. Since last year the company has delayed ZenFone 4 for several months, but now obviously is going to shorten the time between generations.

According to ASUS’ CEO, Jerry Shen, we will see the first ZenFone 5 smartphones in March. So far, it is still unclear whether this will happen during the Mobile World Congress or at separate event.

Regardless of the date, it is clear that this will happen soon, as Russia has already got the first model certificate. This is the ZenFone 5 Lite, which is a mid-range model with a 6-inch display and an unknown Qualcomm processor with LTE support. It is unclear whether the display will have a 18: 9 ratio as it is now common for the most of the new models.

MWC 2018 is expected to be quite eventful when it comes to smartphone releases, as Samsung confirmed quite recently that the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be announced during MWC, and in addition to both Samsung and ASUS, a number of other companies are expected to introduce their smartphone devices.
