The PC version of Devil May Cry HD Collection will support extremely high resolutions, Capcom confirmed. Even 4K will not be the limit, as long as you have a video card and processor that are able to handle even higher resolution.

The news is good for PC gamers, as long as the port is technically well made rather than becoming another sloppy port. By comparison, console versions of the hack-end-slash compilation will not support even 4K resolution. That’s right, whether you have a PS4 Pro or a new Xbox One X, Capcom will not let you get the most out of your system.

According to the company, the reason behind this lies in the engine and game code associated with the video refresh cycle, resulting in higher resolution being achieved only by PC. The good news is that at least the games will run at 60 frames per second on all platforms.

As Capcom’s WBacon revealed when asked about the Steam release of Devil May Cry HD Collection:

“The engine and game code/logic is likely tied to the video refresh cycle. The game will support resolutions 4K and beyond though.”
