The new Star Wars: The Last Jedi has already written history in cinemas, and as a result, interstellar obsession reaches critical levels.

After the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we can expect the film dedicated to Han Solo, which should be released next year. It will be followed by the official Episode 9 in 2019, and then there will be another spin-off in 2020.

It has recently become clear that Disney and Lucasfilm are planning to create a film about Obi-Wan Kenobi’s adventures, and it is quite likely that it is the spino-off scheduled for 2020. The shooting of the film will begin in January 2019 at London’s Pinewood Studio.

First news broke in August that Lucasfilm were in the process of setting up the project, which has yet to be officially announced. But now production sources have told Omega Underground that the film is gearing up for an early 2019.

Ewan McGregor, who portrayed Obi-Wan in the three Star Wars prequels and supplied his voice as the character in 2015’s The Force Awakens, said last year that he’d be open to returning to the role.

“I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’s first one,” he told the French film magazine Premiere. “It would be fun to film that story now I’m older. I’d be the right age. I’m 45, Alec Guinness was what, 60? I could do two of them (laughs)!”

The rumoured Obi-Wan project is speculated to arrive in 2020, following a May 2018 release for Solo: A Star Wars Story, and a December 2019 release for JJ Abrams’s Star Wars: Episode IX.
