Founder and CEO of Essential Andy Rubin will temporarily leave his posts for personal reasons. Behind them is hidden is a “wrongful relationship”  following a report on the circumstances of his 2014 departure from Google.

The incident developed in 2014 when another employee filed a complaint in Human Resources. Rubin’s spokesman denies any violations and claims that whatever the relationship between them is, they are based on mutual consent.

Rubin left the Android department in March 2013 to lead Google’s efforts in robotics, but the HR investigation is said to have taken place in 2014.  “Google has never made a remark to Mr. Rubin about his behavior,” says Mike Sitrick to The Verge.

At that time, Rubin and the employee worked together in the Android division, which is a violation of Google’s policy. It requires, in the case of a relationship between employees, to announce it so that one can be transferred to another department. The informal information is that Rubin has put pressure and has “misjudged” the situation.

Essential confirmed that Rubin had stepped aside and said that Niccolo de Masi, Essential’s president, would be in charge for the time being. “At our last regularly scheduled board meeting earlier in November, Andy asked for a leave of absence to deal with personal matters,” an Essential spokesperson said. “The Board agreed and our President, Niccolo de Masi, will continue to run day to day operations at Essential.” Post from: GizBrain.
