Nintendo Switch 4.0 Update Brings Wireless Headphones Support
The hybrid game console Nintendo Switch is ideal for gaming on the go. So far, the system only supported standard headphones with a cable, however a new firmware update adds another long-awaited feature – wireless audio connection.
Firmware 4.0, released a few days ago by Nintendo, lets you plug the USB adapter into your USB headset’s USB port on the console and that’s it. The option applies to both a console docking station and a non-existent console; for the second option, you usually need a USB Type-A to USB-C adapter and plug it directly into the system.
Unfortunately, the update applies only to USB-based headphones. If you have a Bluetooth connection, you are not lucky for the moment, but we hope that this functionality will be added soon.
In addition, firmware 4.0 also adds a few major features to the Switch not previously available. Users can now record 30-second video clips from a select number of games, while game save and account data can be transferred from one Switch to another.
