All 2018 iPhones to adopt Face ID is this the end of Touch ID?
The KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who has made solid breakthroughs in the hardware predictions for Apple’s products, has come up with a new statement that Apple will abandon the Touch ID from 2018.
Kuo’s predictions relate to the fact that the new models in 2018 will be primarily Face ID, which will end the Touch ID at least as we know it.
Kuo also note earlier this week that he expects Apple to integrate the TrueDepth camera system into the 2018 iPad lineup, solidifying the technology’s place in the company’s existing mobile device ecosystem.
Apple still holds a patent for a Touch ID sensor embedded under the iPhone screen, but if and when that will happen, we’re about to see.
