Google Pixel 2 release date October 5th features Snapdragon 836 and Android 8.0
Since the last few days we have seen different images of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, and now we have the date, on which they will be officially unveil.
This information of course, does not come from the company itself, but from the notorious Evan Blass (@evleaks) who says that the premiere of the two devices will happen on October 5th. We have to mention, that the last year Pixel and Pixel XL were officially announced on October 4th, so there is logic at that date.
Google’s second-generation Pixel handsets, powered by Snapdragon 836 SoC’s, will be unveiled on October 5th.

The same source also talk about the chipset of the two smartphones. According to Blass, they will be powered by the yet unannounced Snapdragon 836 – a slightly more powerful and power-saving version of the current model Snapdragon 835, which we find in many of the top models of this year, including the just announced Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
The Pixel 2 XL is being made by LG, and it has a modern-looking slim bezel design with a 5.99-inch, 1440p OLED display. The smaller Pixel is being made by HTC, has bigger top and bottom bezels, and has a 4.97-inch 1080p OLED display.
Both devices is expected to have squeezable frames like the HTC U11, dual front-facing speakers, an always-on display mode, however no headphone jacks will be present, and 4GB of RAM. They will be the first phones that will come directly with Android 8.0 Oreo.
