Alleged iPhone 8 Wireless Charging Module Leaked
This morning, in the Chinese social network Weibo leaked a new set of images showing one of the hardware components of the iPhone 8. According to what we see the iPhone 8 can really support wireless charging.
On one of the images we also see the specifications of the module: 5V-12V; Output current: 0.6A-2A; Output power: 5W-10W; Performance data: 70% -85%; And CE FCC RoHS Certification. As far as the legitimacy of this component it has about 60% chance to be real.
However, that’s where the firm data points stop. There are also no clear markings that point to an Apple part, or conform to any known Apple numbering scheme for parts.
Rumors also suggest that Apple will present three new iPhone: iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8, which will differ in some features. It’s expected that all three models will come with inductive wireless charging.
In February Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities a highly reliable analyst who often breaks Apple news, also predict that all new models will come with wireless charging.
Wireless charging is a nice feature to have, however, at the same time, wireless charging in Android devices has proved to be slower than wired charging, we can hope that Apple will come with a better solution, which will improve this feature as well.
We expect Apple to present its new iPhone during its annual event in September.
