20 years after its launch, Microsoft announce the Definitive Edition of the original Age of Empires. Fully remastered with 4k graphics, re-orchestrated soundtrack, major gameplay improvements, new narrative, Xbox Live multiplayer and achievements, the Definitive Edition brings back the classic game and its Rise of Rome expansion.

One man is defiantly happy about that – Bill Gates. Microsoft’s co-founder is a fan of the original strategy and during an AMA session in Reddit last year he suggested he would try to get some form of remake of the game.

Yesterday, Gates came back to the social network to comment on the announcement.

“I know it’s been ages since /u/le-click began this campaign, but I finally have an answer for you. Hopefully it will be worth the wait,” Gates said and released a link to Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.

The game has to be released this fall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch of the series.
