Audi will release its next-generation A8, which is expected to be level 3 of autonomy. The premiere of the vehicle will be on July 11. The company released a video in which the car parked itself without driver involvement.

Judging by the video, just by pressing a button, the car will maneuver and park back in the specified location. The demo does not reveal anything of its kind in itself, especially since Tesla presented its autonomous parking function in 2016. However, Audi promises that this is only a small fraction of all the innovative features that will come with the A8.

The premiere of the car will be part of the new Audi Summit where we will see “innovative solutions for tomorrow’s urban mobility”. The vision of the company will be focused on vehicles and communication, merged into one.

Audi also announced that they were the first company to be licensed for autonomous unmanned driving in New York. The State has the ambition to become one of the first to test mass autonomous cars that will change the way people travels in and out of the urban environment.
