Galaxy S8 got a frustrating Bluetooth problem, but a fix is on the way
Samsung Electronics will release a new software update on a global level that will fix the Bluetooth issues affecting the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The announcement comes after complaints by a number of users in Samsung’s forums about problems with the feature.
It turns out that some users are experiencing difficulties in using Bluetooth, including the connection suddenly interrupts, the connected devices can not “hold” for long, and so on. One user, however, said that the permanent disconnection of the Gear S3 Classic made him start using his other iPhone 7 device.
User userc9TEq9r8Hm wrote on the Samsung’s official forum: “My Galaxy S8 Plus won’t stay connected to Bluetooth in my 2008 BMW 335xi or 2011 BMW X5. It will briefly pair with the cars, but won’t download contacts and messages.
At that point, I can make a call. After a minute or so (whether or not I make a call), the connection ends and, in some cases, may be re-established, only to end again. The phone will connect with a Cisco telephone in my office, with an aftermarket car radio, and with a standalone Bluetooth speaker.”
The fact that Samsung fixes the problem through a software update confirms that this is not a hardware flaw. A week ago, Samsung launched a software update that specifically targets this issue. Currently, it is only available in the United Arab Emirates. The South Korean company did not specify when we can expect global release of the update.
