You no longer need to sit on the couch and play your Xbox One, staring at the TV. From December you will be able to enjoy them in a virtual reality thanks to a new update from Microsoft.

From December 12 owners of the Oculus Rift will be able to stream Xbox One games directly on the VR headset, this will happen through a new application. This automatically will not “take you” into the game, but you will enjoy huge virtual screen.

Each game that runs on the console – like the hits Forza Horizon 3 and Halo 5: Guardians or the Xbox 360 compatible titles – will work with Rift. The control will be done with standard Xbox One controller, whether you have it as part of the package with the headset or separately.

The application itself will be called Xbox One Streaming to Oculus Rift and can be downloaded from the digital Xbox One store. This is possible thanks to the continued partnership between Microsoft and Oculus VR. The VR headset debuted in March and only works with Windows 10, also comes bundled with Xbox One controller.

The expected next autumn revision of Xbox One Scorpio will itself support virtual reality. Post from: GizBrain
