Today DJI introduced new professional version of its Phantom 4 drone. The updated Phantom 4 was launched just eight months ago, in March this year. Phantom 4 Pro features a better camera, improved software to avoid obstacles, longer battery life and additional intelligent flight modes.

Let’s start with the camera. Phantom 4 Pro features a 1-inch CMOS sensor that captures 20-megapixel images and can capture up to 11.6 stops of dynamic range. The large dynamic range means that sensor will be better able to balance and to distinguish light and dark scenes. The camera can now produce up to 14 photos per second and makes the video in slow motion at 60 frames per second.

The sensors of Phantom 4 Pro are also improved significantly. DJI Phantom 4 and Mavic Pro can avoid obstacles only when flying forward. Phantom 4 Pro has sensors on all four sides, which means that the drone can see and avoid obstacles while moving in any direction. Thanks to new sensors the maximum speed mode with avoiding obstacles goes from 35 km/h to 50 km/h.

Another major change with Phantom 4 Pro is that you can buy a remote with built-in display which is super bright. The battery life of Phantom 4 Pro now reaches up to 30 minutes.

Phantom 4 Pro will cost you $1,499 or $ 1,799 if you choose to pick up the controller with built-in screen. It’s available for pre-order from today on the site of DJI. The company says drones will begin shipping next week. Post from: GizBrain
