Samsung is giving more than $1 million each month to Tizen Developers
In the world of mobile technology undisputed leaders in operating systems are Android and iOS. Competition from Samsung’s Tizen is on the market since 2012, but the number of applications for this operating system is very limited. Well, Samsung will try to change that.
The Korean company officially announced its new program Tizen Mobile App Incentive Program, which will encourage developers to write more applications for Tizen. Through the program, developers can compete for prize money of $10,000 to create a successful application in the categories of social networking, games, lifestyle and more.
To participate in the program developers need to publish them application on incestive.tizenstore.com. The program started in January next year. Then Samsung will select the top 100 applications and number of downloads will reward developers with $10,000, bringing the total number of prizes will reach $1 million.
The company will distribute the money every month from February to October 2017. This means that Samsung has invested more than $9 million in the initiative ($10,000 to 100 applications every month).
