Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Concept (gallery)
Mercedes-Benz officially presented his pickup concept that will come on the assembly line next year. The car is called X-Class, and the Germans showed two versions – one urban and one off-road.
Both have aggressive design, relying on a large grille and curved headlights.
City pickup is called Stylish Explorer and has quite stylish and custom LED taillights and fog lights are integrated in the radiator grille.
Off-road version of the X-Class is called Powerful Adventurer and has a slightly different grille, standard taillights, fender protective elements and electric winch.
The interior of both versions also have a different vision, a body of urban pickup has a luxurious look and relies on premium leather and wooden decorations the off-road version has a carbon fiber and a fire extinguisher.
Both versions are equipped with modern infotainment system and multiple systems to support the driver and 360 degree camera assistant for monitoring the roadway, emergency brake and others.
Since the platform of the German pickup was taken from Nissan, this engine range will start with units used in the range of Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan.
The top version, however, will be equipped with a V6 diesel from Mercedes and combined with the system of all-wheel drive 4Matic.
The maximum capacity of the German pickup will be approximately 1.1 tons and marginal cargo base driven trailer will be about 3.5 tons.
The units for the European market will be produced in Nissan’s factory in Barcelona, Spain. For the South American market will be responsible the factory of Renault Argentina. Sales of Mercedes X-Class will be launched in late 2017.
