2017 BMW i8 hybrid will be Faster and With New Design
BMW i8 is a very interesting car that has an impressive design and features, but the company is now facing an unexpected problem as its sales decreased globally.
The German manufacturer has no intention to leave the situation this way and plans to use interesting strategy to improve its popularity among consumers and fans of high speeds.
That’s why BMW developed a new updated version of the i8, which will have updated vision, more powerful engine and can drive longer on a single charge.
The upcoming model BMW i8 will once again be an hybrid that combines petrol and electric engine, which will now increase the maximum power up to 420 horsepower, compared with the current 362 hp.
Official figures reveal that the new car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km. in less than 4.4 seconds with a maximum speed of a 249 km./hr.
The improved version will have a 1.5-liter power engine with a turbocharged three-cylinder, with built-in battery will have a capacity of 10kWh, instead 7.1kWh in the current model, which is now sold in the market.
The German manufacturer will introduce a number of changes in the interior, which will include infotainment system than can be controlled by the passengers with gestures like the new BMW 7 Series.
Yet to understand more details about the improvements that we will see in the modified BMW i8, as it is unlikely to be presented to the market by the end of this year.
According to unconfirmed information, the company will use the Frankfurt Auto Show 2017 in the first months of next year to show it for the first time and then will understand and what will be its price. The speculations are that the updated i8 model will cost about 30% more than the regular BMW i8.
