DirectX 12 is the latest set of Microsoft APIs (application programming interfaces) for getting the most out of the graphics on Windows 10 and it is accepted by developers faster than any previous DirectX, according to boss of the Xbox, Phil Spencer.

During Build 2016 presentation at the conference of Microsoft, Spencer speaks during most of the time about the many ways in which Microsoft is trying to facilitate developers to make their games and applications available for different devices – such as Xbox One, desktop PC’s and HoloLens.

The rapid adoption of DirectX 12 developers is a sign that Microsoft is well positioned in the gaming industry to fulfill its UWP (Universal Windows Platform) plans.

With DirectX 12 developers will see much improvement in their games versus performance in DirectX 11. Microsoft says that the graphics performance has been improved by 50 percent when it comes to CPU utilization. This leads to reduced latency and improved productivity and frames.

DirectX 12 launched in June 2015, and developers have already used it to for games like:
♦ Forza Motorsport Apex
♦ Quantum Break
♦ Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
♦ Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
♦ Just Cause 3
