Apple Music comes in very critical moment. People in the US use streaming music services almost twice more in the first half of 2015 than in the same period last year, while sales of digital songs have fallen by just over 10 percent, according to a report on the Billboard statistics from Nielsen.

Overall, Nielsen reported 92 percent jump – up to 135.2 billion streaming songs. This is another sign that digital downloads walk the path of the CD, while music streaming is rapidly becoming a new way of listening to music.

What’s really is interesting about streaming measurements from Nielsen is that they do not relate only to the audio. In fact, the biggest jump is in streaming video – 109% increase – to 76.6 billion broadcasts. If anything, it sounds like good news for YouTube and streaming services like Apple Music, which include music videos.
