1. Consolidate your mailboxes
The latest version of Gmail for Android includes a useful feature that allows you to see in one place all your messages from multiple accounts at Google. To take advantage of it, add new accounts using the dropdown menu on the left just below your avatar. Once you enter the correct login will appear a new entry All Inboxes in the left panel. You can still switch between the various individual accounts, using the drop down menu above ‘All Inboxes’.
2. Take advantage of the rapid action
If you drag an e-mail to the left or right, you back it up, and if you touch the picture on your account (or letter) can select multiple messages at once. When messages are selected in this way in the top of the screen will display a number of options – archiving, deleting and marked as read / unread. More options (such as changes in labeling) are accessible via the menu ‘More’ (three vertical dots).
3. Solve problems with synchronization
If you go to ‘Settings’ and tap on ‘Accounts’ you can see which Google account associated with your device, click one to make sure syncing with Gmail is activated. The search function within the app seems simple, but do not let that fool you, because it is almost as powerful as that for the computer version. For example, try entering “older_than: 1y” or “older_than: 1d” in the search box to find messages that are received before year or one day in Gmail. Google provides a handy list of search operators and almost all of them work in the Annex Gmail.
