Yahoo works on own voice assistant with codename Index
Yahoo is a company that is well known among consumers for its search engine, also with its popular email service, but also offers us many mobile applications. Now Yahoo plans to present and own voice service that will be optimized for smartphones and tablets. The new application, over which Yahoo works have codename Index, as leaders of this project are Jeff Bonforte and Peter Monaco, who joined the company from Xobni. The company believes that there is a serious advantage over Google, Apple and Microsoft, which translates into customer loyalty to its services. Yahoo argue that there are many people who continue to use its email client since its inception two decades ago. Algorithms that it uses to provide them with “useful information” as a result of their applications will be crucial for the service Index. Another more interesting is that it expects the first version of the new personal assistant of the company to be submitted by the end of the second quarter. Will be interesting to see what features will distinguish the first voice service for smartphones and tablets of Yahoo.
