I must tell you something – I love to see how they work complex mechanical watches, for any input engineering excellence. They do not require batteries, are beautiful and are a true reflection of human genius. Someone somewhere has designed all those gears and springs, causing them to work together and to show the correct time without resorting to need power.

For its tenth anniversary manufacturer of mechanical watches MB&F, in partnership with l’Epée 1839, showed their robotic clock that will stand quietly at your table and will show the correct time for 40 days, as I mentioned – without the need for electrical power.

This clock is called MELCHIOR and is made of 480 parts. MELCHIOR was designed by Xin Wang. It will be made only 99 units, but there will be two versions – one made of solid silver and the other – in two colors.
