Google released a new addition to the function Smart Lock in Android Lollipop, giving an extra option to unlock that works with motion sensors on Android devices. The option is called “On-body detection” and is designed to use the accelerometer on your phone to see if it is placed on a flat surface or in the hands of the user.

The phone will stay unlocked when detects continuous motion (when in hand or in your pocket), and will conclude when remain stationary.

Whether you use this function is your choice, but you should consider that it is less secure than using standard methods for permanently locking with password ‘painting’ or fingerprint (if available). But perhaps the new option will be useful for people who always want to “fight” with passwords and want quick access to them device.

This update will cover all devices with android 5.0 and 5.1, but if you have not yet received it keep a little patience. To check whether it is active, go to Settings> Security> Smart Lock. Do not forget to leave a comment to tell us your experience.
