During an event in Tokyo, Japan Industrial Partners, the new owner of the VAIO line of Sony, introduced the first products developed after the deal – VAIO and the VAIO Z Canvas.

VAIO Z has two versions, which differ mainly in CPU (Intel Core i7 or Core i5). The notebook has a 13.3-inch display and SSD drive, which allows system startup 0.3 seconds. The battery is especially impressive: according VAIO withstand goals 15.5 hours in standard use. The laptop its turn it into a tablet, and can be use in several different ways.

Z Canvas is available “monstrous tablet” (VAIO Using this definition) with a 12.3-inch display, Intel Core i7 processor and 256 GB SSD. The RAM can be configured up to 16 GB, and the keyboard is removed, which makes the Z Canvas relatively massive Windows tablet. VAIO Z is now available for pre-order in Japan and Z Canvas goes on sale in May.
