1. Intelligent lock

Several popular models Android devices have a fingerprint reader, Google added new ways for easy locking and unlocking devices. Novelty Lollipop function Smart Lock, which allows owners of the devices to use ‘trusted device’ (‘trusted device’) or ‘trusted face’ (‘Trustee’) to streamline the phone lock. Smart Lock is the best option for people using Bluetooth devices or NFC tags. ‘Trusted face’ on the other hand is a more convenient way to unlock and work after the user to register the person in the unit. Then, each time the device is switched on, it will seek the face of the user and if you do not find it locked.

2. Control notices

Notifications in Android 5.0 can be seen and activated by the lock screen. Although this is very convenient, there is always a danger to display information you do not want to be seen by anyone who seizes your phone. Fortunately, the new version of the platform allows for more control – just go to Settings -> Sound & notifications -> When device is locked -> Hide sensitive notification content. Thus applications that take advantage of this new feature will hide content from the lock screen. Option ‘Do not show notifications at all’ does absolutely prohibits all notices to appear on the lock screen.

3. Pin applications on the home screen

This feature can be useful if you have big fingers and it is difficult to navigate, and if you are a parent and you want to provide your child’s access to a video in YouTube, but not to the rest of your device. To activate this feature, go to Settings> Security> Advanced> Screen pinning and turn on option. Now when you go to Overview, all applications that can attach will appear with a small blue icon Pushpin in the lower right corner. Tap this icon and Android will ask you to confirm that you really want to do this.

4. Create a Guest and User accounts

Lollipop allows users to create arrangements for guests of their device. This is great if you want to give your device to someone only temporarily (Guest) or run it jointly with another person (User). To add a user as a guest, just double-click the Notification panel and select the icon of identity in the upper right corner. You can do this from Settings> Users. The owner of the device can limit the calls (for Guest) or both calls and messages (in User) of these accounts. Thus, they can only make emergency calls.

5. Google can verify the security of the applications that you have installed

Google can protect consumers from potentially unsafe applications with tools such as Verify Apps. You can find this feature in Google Settings, Device Settings to default and it is enabled. Activation function entitles Google to scan the device for potentially unsafe applications already installed to warn consumers not to install an application, and to prevent an installation before it is finished.

6. Backups and reset

If you ever lose your device, you may want to be able to return it to its factory settings to protect your personal data. This can be done through Backup & Restore in Settings. Enabling this feature requires the user to create backups account.
