NVIDIA are working on a new compact tablet that was created specifically for gamers around the world and will be called Shield Tablet. The company is expected to submit it on 22 July, and sales in the European market will start on August 14. Just a day before the official premiere online leaked data revealing the full technical specifications of the device.

The new tablet NVIDIA will offer an 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920h1200 pixels and powerful 2,2 GHz Tegra K1 processor, which has 192 CUDA cores. Operational memory is 2GB, a built-in battery will provide up to 10 hours of continuous video viewing on a single charge. Shield Tablet has two 5-megapixel camera and built-in speakers and comes with 2 DirectStylus stylus.

The device will support high-speed LTE networks as well as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, GPS and has a microUSB, mini HDMI port and a slot for microSD memory cards. NVIDIA will provide its new tablet with extra controller and a stand that allows it to stand upright. The cost of Shield Tablet in North America is $299 and $399 for the version with 16GB and 32GB memory, as the European market it will probably be €299 and €399.
