Recode says one of the companies that Google and Apple have tried to acquire in 2013, is Square. Created by Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter, it offers one of the most popular ways to avoid the expensive and bulky payment terminal.

According to Reuters, Jack Dorsey and company are considering proposals from Apple and Google well, but later abandoned, although the proposed amount of $8 billion is more than tempting. The source claims that Google has made a better offer, but Dorsey has bad memories of negotiations to acquire Twitter and would prefer to deal with Apple, whose principles are closer to those of the Square. As a whole, the company prefers to continue to operate independently.
