Earlier this evening, Samsung has introduced its new flagship, Galaxy S5, during a special event in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Almost all the rumors that we reported in recent months, were confirmed.

Seen from the front, Galaxy S5 hardly differs from the Galaxy S4. The device has a 5.1 -inch S-AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The buttons below the screen, with the exception of Home, is capacitive. One of the biggest innovations in the Galaxy S5 is waterproof. The device is certified IP67, which means it can be immersed in water and to withstand more serious releases. The rear panel has undergone major changes. Samsung longer rely on opaque plastic with a texture similar to that of the first Nexus 7.

Under the hood we find Snapdragon chip 800 clocked at 2.5GHz and 2 GB RAM. The battery should provide 20% more runtime compared to Galaxy S4. The company focuses on improved camera that has 16MP and shoots 4K video. In the Home button is embedded fingerprint sensor, which requires you to slide your finger up. The device stores up to three fingers. Underneath you is a heart rate monitor. It is enough to run the portal S Health, to select an application for measuring pulse and put your finger on the sensor.

From a software perspective, we find an updated version of TouchWiz on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The design is very minimalist and rely on bright circular icons.

Sales of Samsung Galaxy S5 began on April 11 in black, white, blue and gold. The price is still unknown.
